Memories in Paris

This is short trip holiday to Paris and Reims end of last April. Purpose of this trip to seek European civilisation, lifestyle, culture and cuisine. I took 9 days of unpaid leave just to make sure that this dream plan is achieved. I stayed with my ex-R&A colleague who continued to study MBA in Reims, and took his semester break in spring season to chill out in Paris before heading to Reims on Day 6. The temperature was 17C at that time and it was the first time ever that I had travelled overseas by myself. I finally made it. We rented one apartment in Rue Morel in Oberkampf Street in the middle of Paris city. We stayed there for 5 days but only spent 250 euros for rental and 38 euros for our meal. Below is the summary of my visited places during the trip. All these places was suggested by my friend because I didn't know how to speak French. Damn French. I'm not a good travel storyteller. So enjoy reading. :)

Monday
Arrive in CDG

Tuesday
Assemblée Nationale – French parliament
Alexandre III Bridge – bridge with golden statues
Les Invalides – military memorial and church
Eiffel Tower – view from Parc du Champs de Mars (picnic) and Trocadéro (breakdance)
La Défense – business district, including La Grande Arche monument

Wednesday
Musée du Louvre
Carrousel du Louvre – underground shopping centre and restaurants
La Pyramid Inversée – the inverted pyramid (Da Vinci Code)

Thursday
Montmartre area – a hilly district of Paris
Sacré Coeur Basilica (church)
Place du Tertre – Tetre Square – area with painters and artists
Arc de Triomphe – war memorial
Avenue des Champs-Élysées – main shopping street of Paris
Île de la Cité – City Island – oldest part and point zero of Paris
Notre Dame Cathedral
Pompidou Centre – modern art gallery

Friday
Place des Vosges – luxury residential area in a garden square
Musée Picasso
Djibril’s house at Alfortville

Saturday
Paris Opéra – main opera house
Place Vendôme – square with luxury shops at Ritz Hotel
Madeleine – square with military memorial and Fauchon chocolate shop
Haussmann Boulevard – street with many large shops
Galeries Lafayette and Printemps departmental stores

Sunday
Reims
Place d’Erlon (restaurant & café area), Rue de Vesle (shopping street)Rilly La Montagne – small champagne village.

Monday

Reims - Management School of Reims

Tried to go Reims town by myself to buy some souvenirs for family and friends in Malaysia.

Tuesday

Come back to KL. Used fast train TGV direct to transit CDG airport.

Wednesday

Arrive KLIA at 7am and at 2pm start work. Huhuh
